Bakery Science & Technology Classes Active in “Project Manhattan” Food Drive

Each May, AIB employees support the “Project Manhattan” food drive to benefit the Flint Hills Breadbasket.  “Project Manhattan” is a month-long, community-wide drive in which local businesses involve employees and customers in collecting donations to help provide food to those in need. The BS&T Classes 183 and 184 made generous gifts to the project.

“Class 184 donated 51 food items and Class 183 donated 75 pounds of food, and $40,” Leanne Finnell, AIB’s project organizer, said.

For more than 30 years, the Flint Hills Breadbasket has offered a variety of programs and services to help alleviate hunger and poverty in Manhattan, Kansas and surrounding communities.
