Tip of the Week - Hand Sanitizer

How do you use hand sanitizers in your plant?

Sanitizing solutions are widely used in the food industry and new dispensing options are made available to plants to ensure personnel do not skip this step when entering production. Are they always used in the right way?

In some plants, alcohol-based sanitizers, are used as a substitute for hand washing. Sometimes workers prefer this method especially if time is limited or when they are required to wash their hands often. Hand sanitizing is not a substitute for good handwashing. Soiled hands cannot be cleaned or disinfected properly by just using an alcohol-based sanitizer.
